Not having to work day in and day out and traveling the world¡ªthis is a dream most of us have, but it remains just that: a dream. But not for Jack Nolan, who quit his day job and now travels the world on a cruise ship. To make matters even sweeter, he is getting paid for it!?The 33-year-old from Devon in South West England used to work as a plumber to make ends meet, but these days he is a musician on a cruise ship.

Nolan, who was a musician at heart, was stuck in a dull, boring, and unfulfilling job until his fortunes changed in 2016. A friend of his reached out to Nolan asking him if he knew any guitarist for a band he was forming. Nolan, who is a singer and guitarist, said he would love to do it, and that was it.
Impressed by a promo video they shot, they landed their first gig on a ferry in 2016, and there was no looking back.?
In the eight years since he quit his job to become a musician, Nolan has been to countries like Australia, Iceland, Canada, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, and more on cruise ships while making as much as Rs 3.5 lakhs every month.
"Not many jobs will let you see so many countries and experience so much culture," he said.

As a singer and guitarist, he performs most evenings but then enjoys whole days to himself, savoring each new port of call without the pinch of paying rent or bills, as his accommodation and meals are all part of the cruise package.
