The world of cosmetic treatments exists in a grey area. For some, it is a blessing, offering beauty enhancements to those who are terminally ill and seeking a boost in confidence. However, for others, it can be linked to deeper psychological issues. In rare cases, individuals may become addicted to these procedures, revealing a side of cosmetic treatments that is far from glamorous.
"I am 100% addicted to filler and Botox," says Fetisch Barbie, a woman in her late twenties from Vienna who has undergone numerous cosmetic surgeries.?
With her plumped-up cheekbones and overly-filled lips, she explained in an IGV interview that she used to have a more gothic look before starting her plastic surgery journey.
On an episode of "Hooked on the Look," Fetisch Barbie describes her appearance as hyper-feminine, with big hair, big lips, and long nails.?
She gets her lips done every three months because she always wants to maintain that fresh, plumped-up look and has spent between ?30k and ?50k on fillers.
Despite loving her look, some of her friends worry she might ruin her appearance if she continues with more treatments.?
They warn, "If you do too much, it can be a problem in the future."?Barbie also receives a lot of negative comments online, with people calling her "weird," but she doesn't let the haters get to her.
Barbie plans to make her lips even bigger in the future and wants to maintain her current appearance.?
She supports the body positivity movement and wants to be included in it, stating, "I am all for the body positive thing, but I want to be included."
In a May 2024 interview with IGV, Fetisch Barbie revealed that her interest in beauty treatments began when she was 12 years old.?
Despite various influences, she always had a clear vision of how she wanted to look and now uses minimally invasive treatments to achieve it.?
"I was never aiming to look like anyone else but me, just more plastic," she told IGV.
