With Donald Trump all set to return to the White House as the 47th US President in January 2025, speculation is rife regarding possible names to be part of his new cabinet. This includes the names of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy.??
Another name that has been circulating for a major role under Trump is Kashyap Pramod Patel, who could be the next Chief of the CIA. Also known as Kash Patel, the 44-year-old is a lawyer by qualification and has served as a U.S. National Security Council official.??
He was also a senior advisor to the acting Director of National Intelligence, and Chief of Staff to the acting United States Secretary of Defense during Trump's first term in office.??
Though Patel was appointed to deal with counter-terrorism issues, Trump had described him as "one of his top Ukraine policy specialists."??
Patel, who was born to Indian-origin parents who immigrated to the US from East Africa, is known to be a fierce Trump loyalist. In a 2023 interview with Steve Bannon, Patel had promised to "come after" politicians and journalists perceived to be enemies of Trump.??
He is also a director and board member of Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns the social media platform Truth Social.??

After the 2020 U.S. presidential election, which Trump lost, it was reported that Patel blocked some Department of Defense officials from helping the incoming Biden administration during the transition.
