Former WWE and World Women's Champion Becky Lynch has been absent from TV for nearly six months now, and there is no clarity on if and when she will return to the ring. Lynch was last seen on WWE on the 27 May episode of RAW, where she lost to Liv Morgan.
Her contract with WWE expired on 1 June 2024, making her currently a free agent. Lynch has not renewed her contract and is currently taking time off from professional wrestling.
Over the past few months, there have been several rumours on wrestling forums about the Irish superstar's future in WWE.
The latest round of rumours comes courtesy of former WWE wrestler and announcer Jonathan Coachman, who suggested that Lynch and TKO could not agree on her payment.
According to Coachman, Lynch had asked for over $2 million per year, but WWE and its parent company, TKO, did not agree to it. Coachman said that if they had paid her, Lynch would be on the show.
However, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Lynch and WWE are still on good terms, and WWE was respecting her decision to take time off.
Sapp, who cited multiple sources, said that WWE ¡°would have jumped¡± at the $2 million demand as Lynch would stand to make well beyond that amount.
According to Wrestling Inc., this is due to the pay scale in both WWE and AEW rising well beyond that in recent years, and as such, it's believed that Lynch's next contract in wrestling would be well above the said figure.
It should be noted that Lynch¡¯s husband, Seth Rollins, re-signed with WWE earlier this year. Lynch and Rollins are married since 2021 and have a daughter together.
