The man arrested for trying to blow up the team bus of Borrusia Dortmund was trying to make make hundreds of thousands of euros by speculating on the football clubĄ¯s share price plummeting if he killed some of its players, said German prosecutors.
Ridiculous indeed that someone would go to such great lengths. The explosions had forced a Champions League match to be postponed and also resulted in a player being injured.

On the day of the April 11 attack in the teamĄ¯s home city, he bought 15,000 options on Borussia Dortmund shares, betting they would drop sharply.
He has been identified as Sergej W, and is being investigated for for attempted murder, causing an explosion and dangerous assault.

The man placed 3 bombs in a hedge on the road that the team bus was due to take to the stadium.
"A massive share drop would have had to be expected, had a player been gravely injured or even killed as the result of the attack," the prosecutorĄ¯s office said.
So what was at first considered a terror attack turned out to be a man who clearly has lost his senses as he wanted to earn money by killing off players! What is the world coming to?
