India need to just draw the first Test against Australia in Pune to record their longest unbeaten Test run at home. But what's more, if they can beat Australia in the Test that starts on February 23, they will pocket a whopping 1 million dollars (Rs 6.7 crore) from the ICC for securing the No 1 spot in Test rankings.

The sports governing body raised the?reward for the team for retaining the number one rankings in Test cricket by 50 per cent in 2015. Thus the prize money of 500,000 USD is now up to 1,000,000 USD and Virat Kohli and team are firm favourites to beat Australia in the first Test and secure the numero uno spot for the cut-off date of April 1, 2017.

The 4-match series against Australia ends on March 29 and the No 1 team will be rewarded the 1 million USD reward after April 1 by the ICC. India took the No 1 spot after winning the home series against New Zealand last year.
