At the end of another fantastic okay year, Google has released a report, looking back at the biggest and most popular trends of 2018.
We got an exclusive look at the most popular gaming apps in India for 2018. Of course, it features PUBG Mobile. Obviously.
As expected, PUBG Mobile was the smash hit of 2018, raking in millions of users in just a few months. The number of Indians playing the game ranks only behind the US. And based on the number of people?incorporating the game into their real life milestones, we're not done chasing that sweet sweet chicken dinner yet.
In second place on Google Play is a classic, Subway Surfers. Despite being about six years old, the developers have kept the game updated with new stuff often enough to be the first to cross a billion global downloads earlier this year.
In third place is a wildcard entry, Ludo King. Based on the popular board game, it's actually the creation of Vikash Jaiswal from Patna, and his Mumbai-based game development studio Gametion. Since its release in December 2016, it's become the top-ranked free game on the Google Play Store.
Asphalt 9 makes it to the number four slot. Many iterations into the game now, Asphalt has grown fairly repetitive. However, its slick graphics and controls still constantly draw in players new to series, making it a top performer.
Word Link has gained popularity in India lately thanks to its combination of English vocabulary-building exercises and puzzles. It feature things like word scrabbles, object association games, and more.
Whether on PC, console, or smartphone, Agent 47 clearly still has the X factor. Hitman Sniper makes it into sixth place with its focus on strategically identifying assassination targets in mission, and gunning them down long-range.
Luci, Knife Hit, and Just a Line round out the top 9 list. The tenth spot however is another up and comer, Dream11 Fantasy Sports, that's been grabbing the attention of cricket fans around the country.
