Facial recognition technology is quickly becoming the norm in most smartphones launching these days.
And for the company who began the integration of face recognition in smartphones as a security feature, Apple is now a victim of its own technology.

According to a 9to5.com, 18-year-old Ousmane Bah is suing Apple for $1 billion. That's right -- one billion dollars. Or seven thousand crore Indian rupees.
Why is a teenager suing Apple for an unbelievable payment in damages? Because Bah alleges that he was falsely identified and arrested as the thief responsible for multiple thefts in Apple Stores over the past few months.
And the blame squarely lies on Apple's in-store face recognition security system, which has messed up badly, according to the details of the lawsuit. Bah says he had lost a learner's permit which allegedly the thief used to identify himself in the Apple Stores, while robbing them at the same time.
The lawsuit filed by Ousmane Bah puts the blame on Apple's in-store facial recognition security technology, but we don't know what exactly it means from a legal liability perspective.?
New York Police Department detectives suspect that the "person who had committed the crimes must have presented Mr. Bah¡¯s interim permit as identification during one of his multiple offenses," the suit says.
