Elon Musk claims that Apple is threatening to remove Twitter app from its App Store without providing a reason for the same.?
Hitting out at Apple, Elon Musk said that the iPhone maker had stopped advertising on Twitter. "Do they hate free speech in America?," Musk asked on Twitter while tagging Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Twitter has lost favour with many of its advertisers after Elon Musk restructured multiple facets of the company. Starting with layoffs that meant erasure of many important teams to the paid verification fiasco that caused a spike of impersonations on the platform, advertisers are unsure if Musk's abrasive style would be good for their brands.
Earlier, Twitter's former head of trust and safety, Yoel Roth warned against a "catastrophic" removal of Twitter from the Apple and Google app stores. Writing in The New York Times, Roth said that this ejection would make "it difficult for billions of potential users to get Twitter's services."

Apple's app guidelines say that the company has the right to reject apps "for any content or behavior that we believe is over the line." Earlier this month, Phil Schiller, who leads Apple's App Store deactivated his Twitter account, suggesting that Apple and Twitter's relationship might be going sour.
A journalist asked Elon Musk if Apple was "threatening Twitter's presence in the App Store or otherwise making moderation demands." Musk replied with "yes."?Musk also threw shade at Apple for the 30% fee charged by Apple for in-app purchases. He shared a meme that suggested he would rather "go to war" with Apple than pay the commission.

Between November 10-16, Apple spent about $131,600 on Twitter ads, down from $220,800 between October 16-22, right before Musk took over Twitter, according to advertisement measurement firm Pathmatics, The Guardian reported.
