This time, Apple Watch has saved the life of one Brandon Schneider -- a Peloton Sales Specialist who is also a Level I certified running coach -- residing in Long Island after having a near-fatal fall in an emergency room washroom.?He was at the hospital for abdominal pain which was misdiagnosed as a kidney stone.
He was in the bathroom when he suddenly lost consciousness and fell straight to the ground. In an interview with People, he said, "I remember washing my hands and thinking to myself, is something going to happen. I don't remember falling to the ground, or hitting my head, or anything of the events that followed."
At the time he was wearing his Apple Watch, which sensed a fall due to its fall-detection features and contacted emergency services as well as Scheider¡¯s dad who was also at the hospital with him.?
He added, "My Apple Watch detected a hard fall, and I did not respond to the like haptic message that requires a response and 45 seconds."?

CT scans later revealed a fractured skull as well as multiple hematomas that were actually growing in size. He soon underwent brain surgery, only waking up four days after the incident, although having no recollection about it whatsoever.

He recommends people to set up their emergency contacts on Apple Watch, "Those who have an Apple watch, may be able to set up their emergency contacts, which I don't know what sparked the idea in me sometime before this incident occurred to make sure I had that setup, but I want to encourage people to do that."
