Were you eagerly awaiting the Apple Vision Pro's low-cost version? According to a well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the rumoured cheaper well might have been cancelled. The Apple Vision Pro is expected to go on sale in early 2024 and comes at a hefty price tag of $3,499 (about Rs. 2.9 lakh).
Apple has described it as a wearable spatial computer and the company will only be able to ship 400,000 to 600,000 units based on production estimates. The market, on the other hand, expects Apple to ship a million units within the first year.
The rumoured low-cost version of the Apple Vision Pro was expected to arrive a year after the first model. But it seems that the company might have cancelled the same. In June, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had reported that Apple was already working on the successor of the Apple Vision Pro and that a cheaper model could see the light of day in 2025 end.

But now, it seems that the Apple Vision Pro 2 could only see the light of day in the first half of 2027, according to Kuo. In July, it was reported that Apple had been forced to make major cuts to its Apple Vision Pro forecasts. Luxshare, Apple's contract manufacturer based in China was working to produce "fewer than 400,000 units" of the first-generation Apple Vision Pro in the first year.
