The (in)famous Baby Shark video is now the first YouTube clip to surpass 10 billion views. Just when we all thought we'd never have to hear the shark jingle ever again in our lives, it makes a comeback.
In November 2020, Baby Shark had become the most-viewed YouTube video of all time. Now, a year later, Baby Shark is the first YouTube video to surpass 10 billion views. The question we want to ask is who is watching the video?
The popular music video was created by entertainment company Pinkfong and was shot to fame after social media trends picked up on the catchy song.
The video has not only set another YouTube record, but has inspired other entertainment properties to take note. From a Baby Shark series on Nickelodeon, to a Baby Shark NFTs - they're everywhere. Despite what the song's messaging says, we discourage trying to dance with baby sharks.

The second most-watched video on YouTube is Luis Fonsi's hit song "Despacito" (sigh) with 7.7 billion views. Given the 3 billion strong gap in between both the videos, only a new viral video could dethrone Baby Shark in the coming years.
Wikipedia's list on most-watched videos on YouTube puts "Johny Johny Yes Papa" at the third spot - with 6.10 billion views, followed by Ed Sheeran's viral song "Shape Of You" that has 5.58 billion views on Google's YouTube service so far.
