iPhone and Mac users, listen up! Apple has issued an emergency security update for iPhones and Macs. The updates address two new zero-day vulnerabilities that have been already exploited by hackers in their attacks, BleepingComputer reported.
Apple hasn't revealed how hackers are using these vulnerabilities and which Apple users are being targeted and the company claims it's to prevent more misuse. Regardless, it's prudent to update your iOS devices as soon as you can.
The attacks (CVE-2023-42916 and CVE-2023-42917) were found in Apple's WebKit browser engine that powers Safari and is also used in company's apps for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. If these vulnerabilities are exploited, attackers could access sensitive information on your Apple devices. They could also execute arbitrary code by using malicious webpages to take advantage of a memory corruption bug.
