Elon Musk on Tuesday has revealed that he would resign from being CEO of Twitter after he finds a suitable replacement, reveals a report by AFP.?
This comes in response to the poll he launched a few days back where he asked Twitter users if they wanted him to step down. 57 percent voters -- roughly 10 million -- were in favour of Musk stepping down, just weeks after holding the reins of the company in October.?
Musk said in a statement, "I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!" while also claiming that he would then only be responsible for software and server teams at the microblogging platform.?
Musk has been using polls on Twitter to make major platform decisions. The polls led to the reinstatement of banned accounts such as Donald Trump and Kanye West (the latter was banned again after antisemitic tweets).
Musk also recently reversed the move of blocking the ability to promote content from other social media platforms, which Twitter users clearly werenĄ¯t happy with.?
Recently, Musk also went ahead and suspended the accounts of several journalists after complaining that some had shared the location/movement of his private jet which as per MuskĄ¯s claims were endangering his family.?
However, some of these suspended accounts have been reactivated again. European Parliament speaker, Roberta Metsola recently also sent a letter to Musk, inviting him to testify before the legislature for suspending such accounts.?
However, the parliament lacks the power to compel Musk to actually turn up and his response to this was unknown.
