Getting to go on a vacation is difficult in today's work life. And email conversations only make it worse. Normally, whenever you're out, you keep a standard response to emails you receive during the time you're on vacation.
However, The moment you get back to your email, you get a ton of mails stating some work, with them later replying 'never mind' or 'enjoy your trip', as they receive your auto-reply and piling up in your inbox. However, Google has a way to fix that.
Google's G Suite Gmail has gotten a major update to notify your colleagues when you're out on a vacation. Once you've marked yourself as 'out of office' on your calendar, your colleagues will get a heads up before they email you.
The moment they'll enter in the compose box, a yellow banner will remind them that you are on a vacation, so if it's not very important, they would avoid sending the email to you. The banner also reveals the trip duration and when are you expected to be back.
What's more amazing is that this feature is also made available in chats on Google Hangouts.?
However, there is a caveat to this feature. So this feature is only supported and available with GSuite (Paid Google Services) users. So if a person who is not the part of the GSuite tries to email you, he won't see that banner and the mail will still come to your inbox.
Since this feature is linked to the Calendar app on GSuite, people who have access to your calendar (your colleagues on GSuite) will only be able to see this feature. Basically, they would have seen these details beforehand, but now the Gmail app is making it very evident for them.

If you're not a fan of it, you can disable this feature by going into Calendar Settings> Access Permissions> Show calendar info in other Google apps and disable it. This feature is expected to roll out to all G Suite users by September 16th.?
