Reported first by PCGamer, one Lucas Brooks, who calls himself a newbie Windows fan has stumbled across a unique easter egg from Microsoft¡¯s first-ever operating system using methods that were nearly impossible at the time of the OS¡¯s launch.
The easter egg was essentially a credits list of developers who worked on the Windows 1.0 operating system along with a ¡®Congratulations¡¯ message buried in the data of a smiley face bitmap file that came with the operating system. He shared the list on his Twitter handle.
What was more surprising is that the data for the credits was encrypted. Brooks claims that the tools he needed to extract the data didn¡¯t even exist when Windows 1.0 was released!
Moreover, if you look closely on the list of developers on the credits, you¡¯ll come across the name of Gabe Newell.?
