Are you of the few who hates the fact that smartphones are getting larger and difficult to use single-handedly? This iPhone 12 leak might excite you for the upcoming Apple flagship.
A new leak that has surfaced online reveals that the iPhone 12 might be going back to a compact form factor. The device in images is apparently an iPhone 12 dummy which features a 5.4-inch bezel-less screen.?
Revealed by iZac on the Macrumors forum, the dummy is based on the leaked schematics of the actual device that is expected to launch in September this year. The device looks a tad bit boxier when compared to the rounded design scheme seen since the iPhone X.?
The dummy is compared with the iPhone SE and the iPhone 7. The device sits right in between the two -- it¡¯s smaller than the iPhone 7 but slightly larger than the iPhone SE or the iPhone 5s, while offering a larger screen size than both the devices.?
It is able to accommodate such a large screen is due to the fact that the upcoming iPhone won¡¯t have a TouchID sensor like the other two. The device is also 1mm thicker than the iPhone SE.?
The smaller form factor on the iPhone 12 means now people who¡¯ve been hanging on to their SE for the compact nature of the device will have a device worth switching to.?
This doesn¡¯t mean that Apple won¡¯t cater to people who like large displays. The iPhone 12 is expected to be made available in three different form factors -- the 5.4-inch device we saw in these leaks, two devices in a 6.1-inch form factor and a 6.7-inch form factor.?
The devices are expected to go back to its design language seen first in the iPhone 4 -- with flat edges like on the iPad Pro as opposed to the curved edges we see today.
The upcoming iPhones will be 5G enabled devices running on the latest and even more powerful A-series chip -- probably name it A14 Bionic.?
Recently iPhone 12 was the news after leaks suggested that the upcoming phones might not pack a charger and EarPods in the box like it usually does, causing a massive uproar among iPhone users around the world.?
As usual, please do keep in mind that these are just leaks and the actual device could be entirely different from these images. Yet, we¡¯re hopeful for compact phones to make a comeback.?
