A strict lockdown of the whole country of Italy was apparently not a reason enough for an Italian man to stop him from catching Pokemons. Assumably an addict of the game Pokemon Go, the simple reasoning he offered to the local police upon being found roaming on Italy¡¯s streets despite the Coronavirus lockdown was "I have to hunt the Pok¨¦mon."
A recent report highlights a 31-year-old man in San Fermo who was confronted by Italian Carabinieri, the country¡¯s main police force, while roaming on the streets with his daughter. When the police force asked him the reason for his venturing, he replied "I have to hunt the Pok¨¦mon."
The man referred to the highly successful augmented reality game ¡®Pokemon Go¡¯ which allows players to catch Pokemons in the real world based on their location. As players venture out to new places, they have a higher chance of catching a unique Pokemon spread across the world.
That, however, is not a valid enough reason for anyone to be outside during the times of the ongoing struggle with COVID-19. Italy, one of the worst hit countries by the virus, is on a complete lockdown since March 10 and does not allow citizens to be outside their homes after 6 pm.
Rightfully so as the country¡¯s death toll from the virus is breaking records on a daily basis and the count of those infected is on the upside of 40,000 and counting. Needless to say, the man was charged for his actions, which quite frankly resembled that of a 6-year old kid.
