Apple Watch has surely revolutionised the wearable tech space and has also proven to be life-saving numerous times with its ECG and fall detection features.?
And now, Apple wants to take this to the next level by warning its wearers if they're going to come down with a fever soon.?
This was revealed by Bloomberg¡¯s Mark Gurman in his newsletter. As per the report, the new feature will be a part of the next Apple Watch generation, Series 8. The feature won¡¯t really offer an accurate body temperature reading, just a warning (in the form of a notification) that they should see a doctor or use a medical-grade thermometer to be sure.
While the feature does feel like a worthy addition, this isn¡¯t the first time this leak has surfaced. Gurman had brought up the possibility of bringing body temperature detection last year in June 2021, then stating that the feature could be on the 2022 version of the Apple Watch.?
But in later reports in January he backtracked stating that the feature could take some time before it is released. Then a few months later, he stated the feature could be featured on the Series 8 only if it passes Apple¡¯s internal testing guidelines. In his latest edition however, he has revealed that as per his belief, the feature has been greenlit.?
This feature is expected on both the standard Series 8 as well as another rumoured rugged edition that Apple is developing for extreme activities users.?
The standard Series 8, however, is expected to have minor upgrades, at least aesthetically. It¡¯ll sport the same hardware as the Series 7 and Series 6. However, the more pricier models of Series 8 could feature better, updated displays (maybe newer LTPO tech).
As always it¡¯s best to take these leaks with a grain of salt and for more in the world of?technology?and?science, keep reading?Indiatimes.com
