The 21-year old YouTuber that goes by the name of Jimmy Donaldson started a campaign, with the help of Arbour Day Foundation, to plant two million trees as he crossed two million subscribers on YouTube, after his fans spammed him on social media to do so. He teamed up with his fans and fellow YouTubers to help him plant the trees.
However, on their own, they could only manage to plant 1700 trees which was nowhere close to the target. Mr Beast then requested his viewers to donate a dollar to the Arbour Day Foundation which is the largest non-profit tree-planting organisation in the world. This foundation will plant one tree for every dollar that is donated.?

Along with Elon Musk, many other entrepreneurs joined the cause. Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter pledged 150,000 trees, EDM artist Alan Walker pledged for 100,001 trees. YouTube's CEO Susan Wojcicki wasn't behind on the fun as she contributed 200,000 trees.?
However, if you were wondering that Elon Musk is the top-most contributor on this list, you'd be surprised to know that Shopify's CEO Tobias Lutke pledged to contribute One million and one trees. The total numbers of trees pledged for #TeamTrees campaign has crossed 8 million!

In the video shared by Mr Beast he mentioned "Honestly I've done everything I can: I've got a bunch of fans together and we've planted thousands of trees. Me and Mark [Rober] have invested months of time behind the scenes getting this together and I'm personally planting 100,000 trees - aka a $100,000 donation. I've literally tried my best to do everything I can and now it's your turn."
He further added, "We only have one Earth and it's important we take care of it. Recently lots of not so great things have been happening to forests and people just keep making fun of our generation for retweet activism and not actually doing something, which is why we created TeamTrees.org with the help of the Arbor Day Foundation."
You too can logon to TeamTrees.org and contribute to the cause.?
