Xiaomi has gone ahead and revealed the launch date of its next smartphone in India. As per the tweet by Xiaomi's MD Manu Kumar Jain, it is launching a smartphone on 21st August which, as per the teaser will be an Android One smartphone. Moreover, the device is also expected to feature a triple-camera sensor at the back.
Co-relating the teases to its global launch in the previous month, it seems like Xiaomi will be unveiling the Xiaomi?Mi A3 smartphone on 21st August. The A3 was launched last month in Spain, as Xiaomi's Android One offering, delivering mid-range specs for a competitive pricing.?
Android One Goodness
To the uninitiated, Android One phones run stock Android without any customisations by Xiaomi. The Mi A3 is also expected to run on the latest Android Pie 9.0 with experiences identical to something you'd see on a Google Pixel smartphone. The device also gets timely security updates, keeping your phone safe from all kinds of malicious attacks.?
OLED Screen
Looking at the specs of the Xiaomi Mi A3 launched in Spain, we can expect the Indian variant to feature a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 720x1560 pixels, which will also get a tear-drop notch that'll house the front camera.
In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
The display will also house an in-display fingerprint sensor as opposed to a fingerprint sensor at the back on the Xiaomi Mi A2.?
A Good Set Of Hardware To Play PUBG On
Speaking of hardware under-the-hood, Xiaomi Mi A3 could feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, along with Adreno 610 GPU. The processor could be paired with 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB/128GB storage variants.?
While this was the case with the variant launched in Spain, we could expect a different hardware setup under the hood too, considering we've seen a better hardware offering on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Powering the device could be a 4030mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Triple Camera Sensors At The Back
As mentioned earlier, we can expect a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The third camera could be a 2-megapixel depth-sensor to capture portrait shots. The front could come with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter to get some crispy selfies.
Xiaomi Mi A3 was launched in Spain for 250 Euros (Approximately Rs 19,999) for the 4GB/64GB variant and 280 Euros (Approximately Rs 21,600) for the 4GB/128GB storage variant.?
If this smartphone does arrive in India with the same specifications, it'll have to be more competitively priced, as existing Xiaomi smartphones in the price category are not only faster but also more feature-loaded, along with many offerings from competing brands like Realme, Oppo and Vivo.?
