You're Looking At World's First 360-Degree Screen From An Upcoming Vivo Nex Phone
Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has decided to take things to a whole new level. According to leakster Ice Universe Vivo is working on a smartphone that would have a 360-degree display. The leakster got hands on the glass display unit of the alleged Vivo smartphone.
Smartphone makers are definitely trying their best to bring the screens on the smartphone closer to the edges. We've been seeing so many smartphone makers joining this bandwagon with phones like OnePlus 7 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro and others, to provide a truly notch-less experience.
However, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has decided to take things to a whole new level.

According to leakster Ice Universe, Vivo is working on a smartphone that would have a 360-degree display. The leakster got hands on the glass display unit of the alleged Vivo smartphone, which according to him, could be Vivo Nex 3. Vivo Nex series of devices are basically concept phones that Vivo showcases, to reveal the next big thing they could bring to their upcoming smartphones.
The glass unit is intact with no cutouts for camera holes or notches. Heck, the phone doesn't even include holes for a power or volume buttons. While the elimination of physical buttons isn't a new thing as Vivo has experimented with a zero cut-out phone design in the past and use touch-capacitive sensors at the edges for volume and power.
It'll, however, be interesting to see what it does with the front camera. Will it use Oppo's in-display camera sensor that it has been working on for a while (considering they're basically the same company) or stick to a pop-up camera?
While there is no other image for this smartphone, the curved edges surely hint at two curved displays on the front and the back of the phone resulting in a truly 360-degree viewing experience.
Moreover, according to the image, the glass goes from the top, all the way to the bottom of the phone, which indicates that the device could literally have over 100-percent screen-to-body ratio.
It was only last year that Vivo first introduced a bezel-less Nex smartphone that first introduced a pop-up camera module to the world along with an in-display fingerprint sensor- something that has become the most popular trend in smartphones these days.
While we still need more clarity on this, from the looks of it, the device surely seems interesting. As always, we'll expect you to take this with a pinch of salt, until the device is officially launched. What do you feel about this 360-degree smartphone? Let us know.
