Taylor stated that as soon as the octopus removed its head, its skin transformed from brown to vivid orange. This was an unusual sighting. Never before has an octopus been seen shifting colours like this. It was a stunning vista.?
To conceal itself from predators, the octopus changes the color of its skin to that of various rocks and corals. "It was an amazing reminder of the beautiful wildlife we have in North Wales and why we need to protect it," she said.
Angus Jackson, data officer at MCS, stated that colourful octopuses are common here, but this scene was unique. It changed the hue right in front of our eyes.
