An Indian-origin chef in Sydney, Australia, is gaining popularity online after a viral video showed him at his pop-up stand, displaying a range of Indian food dishes but with no customers in sight.Finally, the elderly man was observed scurrying for cover after packing up the stall as it began to rain.
Chef Vyas, who relocated to Australia in 1988, has previously worked in some of Delhi's premier hotels. He owns a catering firm in Sydney and also works for The Colonial Restaurants.?
"Our beloved Head Chef @himalayansaltsydney made food for the people of Sydney, but no one came," Sydney-based restaurant group The Colonial Restaurants posted on Instagram, including a video of Chef Padam Vyas at the stall.

The same video, posted by a Sydney-based marketing business, has received a staggering 47.1 million views (and growing).?
In an interview with HT, Chef Vyas, 67, detailed what transpired that day. He emphasized that a few consumers came to his stall. "Few people arrived. It was an unpleasant day. It rained... People who are trolling don't understand. They are unfamiliar with the atmosphere and system in Australia," he said, noting that permissions are required before engaging in any outdoor catering in Australia.?
While the majority of the 18,000+ comments on the video are supportive, expressing support for the chef, a few individuals have criticized Indian street cuisine and questioned its hygiene.?
"His food was probably the best one at the whole market," another person remarked."Stop, I'll eat every food in his stall," another individual said. Check the viral video.
