Nintendo Switch 2 is finally out for sale, and just hours after the first wave of the consoles landed in players' hands, it is making headlines, and it's for the wrong reasons. On Thursday, YouTuber PlainRock124, also known for breaking tech products, became the first person to be banned from the Nintendo San Francisco store. The post shared by the content creator has now gone viral on the internet.
The incident started with a video posted on X (formerly called Twitter), where the YouTuber and content creator Plainrock124 shows himself unboxing the Nintendo Switch 2, only to shatter it on the pavement moments later.
Following this, the console was visibly destroyed, with its screen completely smashed in the now-viral image circulating on social media. "Not kidding, they said I was the first person that¡¯s banned from the store," wrote Plainrock124 in the post.
According to Switchwonews, there are reports on social media mentioning that Nintendo has since responded by placing a retail and account-level ban on the content creator. The ban will prevent him from future purchases and interactions with the store and brand.
However, the report says that the news hasn't been confirmed publicly, but the report claims that multiple sources reveal that an internal store memo flagged the creator by name.
As soon as the video surfaced on social media, it quickly grabbed the attention of Nintendo fans. One user on X said, "Break it infront of millions who wanted one and it sold put you gotta stop this type of content bro."
"Good that doesn't look like an accident but malicious intent, no screen breaks like that unless you hit it with a hard object," another added.
While some found the act 'disrespectful.'
Plainrock124 is a famous content creator and YouTuber who is known for his 'Bored Smashing' series, where he destroys expensive gadgets on camera.
He has gained a loyal fan following who enjoy the mayhem. However, his last video with Nintendo seems to have gone completely wrong.
