A fisherman caught two giant manta raysoff Karnataka¡¯s coast, recently.?
Subhash Sailan got on to his boat Nagasiddhi on Tuesday, went for deep sea fishing and caught the giant manta rays. Subhash returned to the shore with the manta rays and when he did, a crane had to be brought in to put them in a pick-up truck because they were that heavy.?
The manta rays were caught in Mangaluru off the Malpe port. The big sea animals weigh 250 kg and 750 kg!?
The size and weight of these giant rays that has made their photos viral online. It is not everyday that you come across sea animals weighing 750kg.?

Apparently the catching of these rays is not exactly rare; different sized rays are caught quite regularly. However, these have caught attention because of their big size.
Manta rays are belong to genus Mobula. They are characterised by triangular pectoral fins, horn-shaped cephalic fins and large, forward-facing mouths. They are? listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
