As a kid, do you remember drawing a polluted city? People wearing oxygen masks as factories emitted thick smoke. Now, it's a reality.
The level of pollution is going up and the air quality is over 20 times worse than the safe limit prescribed by the WHO (World Health Organisation).?This is also affecting visibility as smog and haze cover the area. On Sunday, there was a significant change in air quality as the speed of winds increased, but we're back to square one.? People are also experiencing headaches, sore throat and difficulty in breathing.?
People in the National Captial Region (NCR) woke up to a thick blanket of smog on Monday morning and it only seems to be getting worse.

The government's efforts have proved to be futile so far. What's scarier is that it is going to get worse as Diwali approaches as a lot of us are still not prepared to give up bursting crackers. We're also not ready to walk more and drive private vehicles less, carpool more and invest a little more to make sure our factories don't give out poisonous gases.? If we're not ready to change our ways, how do we expect change to happen?
