Dogs don't stand much chance of survival if they come face to face with a wild cat. However, that does not mean that if they do encounter the wild animal, they won't stand their ground.?
This family's dog proves that theory - the?dog stared down a huge mountain lion that was pawing at a glass door in a patio. The domesticated animal could have easily been attacked by the mountain lion.?
The bizarre scene was witnessed by homeowner Sarah Bole on 2 December when she returned from work in the evening. She saw Dash staring at a mountain lion through her patio doors.Sarah filmed the moment that showed the dog sitting and silently observing the big cat. She even tried calling Dash to her but he stayed in the exact same spot.
At the beginning of the video,?the big cat is seen a few feet away from the glass door. After it notices the dog, it approaches the door. The owner says, "Dash, get back". However, the dog stares at the mountain lion. They look at each other for almost two-and-a-half minutes before the big cat turns around and leaves the lawn, leading Dash to bark loudly.?
The owner tells Dash to "shut up" when he starts barking just in case the big cat returns to the lawn. The video was posted on Facebook by Sarah with the caption: "I came home from work tonight and walked in to see this on the patio."

"Watch the whole thing as the lion taps the glass. Pardon my language and shaking voice. I was s****ing my pants," she added.?
Despite this incident turning out well for the dog, it is always a good idea to ensure that your pets do not come in any sort of contact with a wild animal because the wilder the animal is, the lesser the chances of your own pet surviving the encounter.
