Exclusive: Veteran writer Vince Russo wants Randy Orton to face 6’4 powerhouse at WrestleMania 41

Randy Orton was to face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41 in a singles match, which created a fair deal of buzz among fans. However, this is no longer the case as KO will miss the grand event because of a neck injury. This has left ‘The Apex Predator’ without an opponent for WrestleMania 41. Vince Russo, a veteran writer who previously worked for? WWE and WCW, has now weighed in on this situation and suggested a replacement for ‘The Prizefighter’.?

Vince Russo feels Nick Aldis should face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41

Veteran Russo feels that Randy Orton should face Nick Aldis, the current SmackDown GM, at WrestleMania 41 as Kevin Owens is no longer available. He added this is the ‘best solution’ given the fact that the company has virtually no time at its disposal to establish a feud with another opponent.?

“Having to book something at the last minute, I like the idea of Randy Orton and Nick Aldis. Although it would be much better to tell a good story over time, with Owens now out they don't have the luxury. I think at the moment that is the best solution they have,” he told Indiatimes.?

Randy Orton and Nick Aldis have a bit of history. The former ‘Legend Killer’ nailed the authority figure with an RKO right after he told him that Owens’ injury meant he was left without an opponent for ‘Mania. This may be used to set up a match between the two at ‘The Show of Shows'. He has also threatened him in the past.?
