While Russian soldiers are invading Ukraine, the rest of the world is finding different ways and are protesting in other ways to punish Russia.?
Over hundreds of bars and liquor stores are removing Russian vodka or any other Russian made alcohol from their premises to stand in solidarity with Ukraine.?
In Ontario, Canada, the Liquor Control Board Of Ontario was ordered to withdraw all Russian products, including Russian Standard Original Vodka, Beluga Noble Russian Vodka and Stoli Vodka.
Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said in a statement: "Ontario joins Canada's allies in condemning the Russian government's act of aggression against the Ukrainian people and we strongly support the federal government's efforts to sanction the Russian government. The people of Ontario will always stand against tyranny and oppression.
According to Daily Mail, in Canada, over 700 liquor stores will remove all Russian alcohol brands.?
Meanwhile, in the U.S., people are doing their own bit where bars and liquor stores empty their Russian vodka and remove bottles from their shelves in a show of solidarity with Ukraine.
Apparently, liquor stores in Wichita, Kansas, has removed more than 100 bottles of Russian vodka from their shelves and poured some of it on the ground in protest agasinst Putin's actions.?
The owner of Pine Tavern too made a video showing him emptying the vodka bottles.?'Russia is acting as though it's 1939 and going into Europe with a full force that they have in Ukraine,' owner Bill McCormick told the station. 'I am so concerned about it metastasizing into other countries.'
However, brands like Stoli are already feeling the losses.?'With regard to us being Russian. We are absolutely NOT a Russian company,' Damian McKinney, Stoli Group global CEO, wrote in a letter to Stratton.
This comes after?Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine, sending thousands of troops across the border and ordering airstrikes on a number of cities.
