Weddings in India are usually held on an auspicious date decided by the elders of the family after taking advice from a priest. A bride had to do the impossible when her wedding day collided with the day she was supposed to give her medical exam.
Recently, a video of Shree Lekshmi Anil went viral on social media.?In the clip, she is seen attending a medical exam in her bridal attire, as the exam and her wedding were scheduled for the same day.?She arrived at the exam hall in full bridal attire, along with a lab coat and stethoscope.
People praised the bride for her dedication after the video was spread all over the internet. Following the video, Humans of Bombay shared the behind-the-scenes footage of the day on their Instagram account.?
Shree Lekshmi shared on the platform, "I have dreamt of becoming a doctor since I was 8¨Cone day, Amma fell so sick, we had to rush her to the hospital. I spent days there. Sitting on those benches in the corridors, I noticed these people wearing white coat with something hung around their necks."
That day, she told her amma, "IĄ¯ll heal people too." She then embarked on a difficult journey for the next ten years to build herself up in order to pass the medical exams and become a doctor.
Shree Lekshmi revealed that the night before the?wedding and the exam was a nightmare as she sat through the night studying while her amma supported her. In between, they would keep a check on the wedding preparations.
She requested that her college make some arrangements for her exam schedule and gave the practical test first. Her efforts were lauded by her classmates, and she received a round of applause from them. As soon as she finished her exam, she rushed to the wedding venue, removed her coat, and sat on the mandap, all in time.
