The cop made the decision to change his life to start over completely. He began by boosting his daily steps to 15,000 and eating a healthier diet.
"When I decided to make a change, I set a goal to walk 4.5 lakh steps every month. In the last eight months, I walked over 32 lakh steps," said DCP Mani, who now weighs 84 kilograms.
Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora thanked him for his work by giving him a commendation certificate on behalf of the department of police at a ceremony where more than 90,000 police officers and workers were present.
The officer also thanked his coworkers and bosses for always being there for him and cheering him on as he worked to reach a healthy weight.
