We Indians love our street food and Maharashtra's vada pav is pretty much everyone's favourite. However, this popular street food has attained a new identity and now it comes in 'gold' flavour.?
That's right! After introducing the world to gold biryani and gold burgers, a restaurant in Dubai has now introduced the world's first 22- carat gold vada pav.?
A restaurant named O¡¯Pao, located in Karama, is known for serving Indian dishes and now it has introduced the 'precious' pav that is priced at Dh 99 (nearly Rs 2,000) and it is only available for dine-in option.? ?
A video showing this gold-plated vada pav was shared by a Twitter user named Masrat Dawood. She captioned the video, "This is what's wrong with the world: too many rebels without a cause."
In the video, it is shown how after the vada is made, it is covered with 22-carat gold sheets and served with fries.?
This didn't seem to make netizens happy who are used to eating vada pav at minimum costs. Moreover, some were even annoyed how there is no free mirchi with royal vada pav.?

Recently, a cafe in Dubai introduced 'Black Diamond' ice cream that is made with fresh vanilla beans and has 23-carat edible gold apart from saffron and black truffles.
Dubai and its obsession with gold. Sigh!
