12th boards are a milestone for every desi kid. It is the last time we get to pull up our socks and shoot for the stars as a school student. Most students take the exam pretty seriously, even if their parents are not the ones pressuring them into it.?
One such student who made her parents proud was Payal Kumari, who bagged the 3rd rank position in the Bihar board exams. She secured third place in the commerce stream intermediate exam conducted by the BSEB (Bihar School Examination Board).
On March 21st, the State Education Minister Chandra Shekhar announced the results, and Payal found out that she had scored 94.4% in her exams.?Payal passed with flying colours from JNKT Inter College in BiharĄ¯s Khagaria district.?
In a conversation with HT, Payal shared, "I was aiming to secure a place in the top 3, and I worked very hard to achieve it. I was very happy after seeing my result. My hard work paid off. I attribute my success to my teachers, parents and God."
Payal is the daughter of an?e-rickshaw driver, Munna Poddar. Her mother, Rina Devi, is a homemaker. The parents were beyond elated to find out the result of their daughterĄ¯s exams. Payal also has a brother in the family. Satyam Kumar, her younger brother, passed the 10th standard this year and will be crossing the same bridge as Payal in two years' time.
Payal also revealed that she aspired to become an?IAS officer, "I wanted to take Science stream, but my family couldnĄ¯t afford tuition fees. Therefore, I decided to take up the commerce stream. Irrespective of the stream, my only aim is to become an IAS officer. IAS officer Srushti Jayant Deshmukh is my inspiration."
