In his rant, user Gautam Arya shared that everything started when he got into an argument with his frugal mother about wanting to buy an air conditioner for his office space at home. Arya works from home and makes the big bucks.?

During the tiff he had with his mother, who like every desi mom suggested he work from any other three rooms in their home that were already strapped with good air conditioning, Arya in order to stop the discussion announced his real income to justify his purchase. The revelation did help his case as his mother was totally on board for the new A/C afterwards.

Not just buying an air conditioner, his mother also changed her spending patterns and let loose for a bit after being thrifty for the better part of her life. The mother also started announcing her new-found knowledge in front of their relatives, which at first did not hurt Arya much as he could see that she was proud of him.

Soon The Requests Started Coming In

However, soon after the requests started pouring in. He wrote, “But this is giving me additional pressure, and now I have relatives calling me every other day with 'distress' calls, asking for money.” Things got to such a peak that Arya says he had to stop posting about his travels on any social media. All of it was because he was afraid that his relatives would come to ask for more if they see his lifestyle.?

He added, “I am extremely frustrated with how I am now hesitant to enjoy my wealth but have to cater to all the money sense around me.”
