On Monday, a 28-year-old man from Nashville allegedly opened fire inside a private Christian elementary school, shooting three children and three adults. He reportedly left behind papers and maps that outlined the layout of the building and its security procedures.?

Just after 10 a.m., the assailant opened fire inside the Covenant School in the affluent Green Hills neighbourhood, where children in grades pre-K through sixth were beginning their final full week of school before Easter break.?

The first image of the schoolgirl shot by a transgender shooter as she tried to pull the fire alarm to save her classmates has been revealed.?Nine-year-old Evelyn Dieckhaus was one of the victims shot on Monday when shooter Audrey Hale, 28, opened fire at the private Christian school.

Her loved ones have called her a "shining light," and they are "completely broken" by her tragic death.

They also said she had been attempting to pull the fire alarm to call for help as the Monday shooting unfolded.

Will Kinney, like Hallie Scruggs, was shot and killed in the mass slaughter; both kids were nine years old.

His loved ones said he was "always kind" and "always open to others."?

They also talked about how much he cared for his two younger sisters.?

A GoFundMe page created by a Kinney family friend said that Will had an "unflappable spirit", always kind, compassionate when needed, quick to laugh, and welcoming of others.

'He loved his sisters, adored his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and was always excited to host friends of every age.?

'Sweet Will knew no strangers, and our hearts are broken for his family as they try to find their way forward.'?

Other victims were the 60-year-old headmistress Dr Katherine Koonce, the 61-year-old substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, and the 61-year-old chef Mike Hill.

Mike's daughter stated she "never thought" he would be killed in a school shooting, even though he has worked there for over a decade.

Brittany Hill shared a tribute for her beloved father, writing,

"I have watched school shootings happen over the years and never thought I would lose a loved one over a person trying to solve a temporary problem with a permanent solution. I will not say her name because I will not glorify her actions. I wish the media would neverepeat her namein. I am so sorry for the loss of those children; seeing their names not called out safely was devastating, as the chaplain told me and my siblings and family this god awful news."

His niece also said three other relatives who worked at the school during the attack were unscathed.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Hale went by Audrey and Aiden but identified more strongly with the male pronouns "he" and "he."

Nashville police said Tuesday that the shooter was a former student at the school, but they still didn't know what motivated the shooting.

Chief of Police John Drake said Hale's shooting resulted from an "emotional disorder."

While Hale has been identified as having "high-functioning" autism, authorities disclosed today that she was also under the guidance of healthcare experts.
