The nation has been under lockdown for 19 days now, to curtail the spread of COVID-19. During this time, a mother from Mumbai, with an autistic child who suffers from severe food allergies, ran out of camel milk.?
The child's mother, Neha Kumari, took to Twitter to hunt for camel milk as her son survives only on that and limited pulses. She didn't have enough in stock to last her the entire lockdown period.
In her tweet that was addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Neha wrote, '@narendramodi Sir I have a 3.5 yrs old child suffering from autism and severe food allergies . He survives on Camel Milk and limited qty of pulses. When lockdown started I didn¡¯t have enough camel milk to last this long. Help me get Camel Milk or its powder from Sadri(Rajasthan)'.
An Odisha police officer, Arun Bothra, came across the tweet and replied to Neha that he would 'do anything and everything possible' to get her the camel milk for her child. After that, he updated the tweet and added that camel milk powder had been arranged for the child and that it will last four days.?
It was indeed a moving gesture, and it makes us believe that there is always?good in the world, even when things look bleak and difficult.?
He also mentioned that he was still trying to arrange for fresh camel milk from Rajasthan.? ?
After that, another status update came when he informed everyone on the micro-blogging website, that 20 litres of fresh camel milk had been arranged and that it would reach Mumbai by train. He wrote, 'Final update.?20 lts. camel milk reached Mumbai by train last night. The family has kindly shared part of it with another needy person in the city.?Thanking Sh.Tarun Jain, CPTM, North-West Railways who ensured an unscheduled halt to pick the container.@RailwaySeva@RailMinIndia'.
Hats off to Mr Bothra who went out of his way to help the mother and child during this hour of need. It is people like him who make sure that hope in the inherent goodness of human beings, never completely dies out.
