Societies in our country face the dire issue of having a pulsating population of stray animals inside gated communities.
Animals, mostly stray dogs, live freely on apartment grounds and cohabitate with humans. In most cases, residents of these societies do not mind the presence of the stray animals and let them roll as they want, even going as far as providing the dogs with food and shelter.
However, it seems like such is not the case with every apartment complex in the country.?A shocking video has been going around on the internet. In the video, women are seen banding together and attacking a solo female.?
In the clips, the elderly women pull no punches and thrash the opposing lady. As per NDTV, the fight broke out when a dog lover opposed the forceful removal of stray dogs from the society complex. The altercation took place in the River Heights Society of Ghaziabad.
According to the police reports, the fight started when some dog lovers spoke up against the management¡¯s decision to brutally remove the stray dogs from the society. From the looks of some of the videos that have surfaced online, the dogs were being trapped inside jute bags and lured into captivity for later disposal.?
People who thought the decision was barbaric were led by Poonam Kashyap as they approached the management for an explanation and even negotiation. However, the discussion soon turned into an argument, which then broke out into a full-blown fistfight.
The woman being thrashed and punched in the video is Ms. Kashyap, who led the dog lovers' group to stop the management¡¯s actions. In yet another video, Ms. Kashyap is seen slapping a man. As of now, it is still unclear who started the physical altercation, as both sides have blamed the other for launching into a fight.
Mr. Subodh Tyagi, the president of the Residents¡¯ Welfare Association, claimed that it was Ms. Kashyap who first started the fight. In return, Ms. Kashyap has also made several allegations against the RWA president. Alok Dubey, a senior police officer, has maintained that they are still investigating the matter, per NDTV.
This now-viral video is getting around the internet after similar situations have flared up in the past. Recently, many videos of societies tackling the issue of pets and stray animals have gone viral. News of dog attacks in the Delhi-NCR region has increased substantially as cases of pet dogs attacking people in elevators have increased this past year.
