A weather report in Australia's Gold Coast took a grizzly turn when the reporter revealed that he had just dived into the ocean to pull out a dead body.
Luke Bradnam, a weatherman?for Australia's 9 News, was reporting on surfing conditions at Narrowneck south of Surfers Paradise when a boogie boarder alerted him to a body in the water.? ??
Bradnam quickly took his clothes off and dived into the water to attempt a rescue. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the body of British backpacker Jake Jacobs who had been reported missing 24 hours earlier.??

The weatherman, a member of Northcliffe Surf club and a strong swimmer, had been reporting on the Gold Coast's treacherous surf conditions from Narrowneck all week.??
Bradnam told viewers after the dramatic incident: ¡°A boogie boarder at Narrowneck alerted me, he thought he¡¯d seen someone struggling again out in the surf.?I immediately stripped off and raced out with the boogie boarder to help the person in trouble."
¡°It became pretty evident that there was a body floating in the water.?The two of us were able to secure the body and start making our way through a rip, back into shore,¡± he added.?

The deceased, Jake Jacobs, had been living in Australia since 2019 and was reported missing after a late-night swim with friend Julia Bokia the previous evening.?
After a lengthy rescue effort, Boika was found unconscious on nearby Kurrawa Beach on Thursday night, but despite efforts by paramedics to revive her, she later died.??
