A man in Michigan, U.S., unknowingly entered into a lottery's second chance game and ended up walking away with $100,000 (Rs 79.55 lakh) jackpot.?
The 58-year-old Oakland County man, who chose to remain anonymous, won $100,000 on the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Second Chance Drawing ¡ª the top prize for the game.?
He told Michigan Lottery officials that he had bought a few tickets. He used the lottery's app to scan a few non-winning without realising he was setting himself up for a jackpot.??
"I bought a few of the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets and scanned them on the Lottery app after I scratched them to double check them.?I never read the back of the ticket, so I didn¡¯t know that by scanning them, I earned entries into a giveaway,"?said the player.?
The man said that he was confused when he received an email informing him that he had won $100,000 in the Diamond Riches Second Chance drawing.??
"I saw an email from the Lottery one day notifying me that I¡¯d won a $100,000 prize in the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches second chance drawing," he said.
"I called the Lottery to see what the email was about, which is when I learned that scanning the tickets had entered me into a drawing. It was such a surprise!" he continued.?
The man visited the lottery headquarters to claim his winnings, which he plans to use to help his family.
"Each non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches ticket is eligible for a second chance to win a prize ranging from $500 up to $100,000," the press release reads. "Players can enter by scanning their non-winning tickets on the Michigan Lottery mobile app ticket scanner by Nov. 13, 2022. Seven more second chance drawings will be conducted."?

LaQuedra Edwards had put $40 into the?Lottery?Scratchers vending machine at a Vons supermarket in Tarzana in November 2021, according to a California State Lottery press release.
Edwards was selecting what games she wanted?when "some rude person" bumped into her, causing her to accidentally push the wrong number on the machine.?
"He just bumped into me, didn¡¯t say a thing and just walked out the door," Edwards said,?according to a?press?release?from the organisation.?
Out of the machine came a $30 200X Scratchers ticket, which Edwards had absolutely no intention of buying.?She admitted she was irritated about spending 75% of her money on one ticket.?
After leaving the store and getting back into her car, Edwards began?scratching her ticket?and realised that she had just won the game's top prize of $10 million.??
