A woman from Chennai who schooled alleged Bharatiya Janata Party workers who came to her home with pro-CAA propaganda is going viral on social media.?
The party members were allegedly visiting homes to ¡®educate¡¯ people about the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.
Elizabeth Seshadri, a reputed lawyer and columnist shared a video on Twitter where pro-CAA workers can be seen trying to hand a pamphlet, to her and other member of her family. The lawyer instantly rejected the pamphlet and stated clearly that she is anti-CAA.
When the workers insisted Seshadri loudly said, "Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai, Hum sab hai bhai-bhai" (Hindu Muslim Sikh Christian, we are all brothers). In response, the pro-CAA workers started chanting "Bharat Mata ki Jai" (long live Mother India) slogans probably thinking that, that was somehow the answer to Seshadri's chant of inclusivity. However, Seshadri joined the workers and also said Bharat Mata ki jai, beyond which the workers found themselves at a loss of words.
After some sloganeering from both sides, Seshadri wished the workers a good day and politely asked them to leave, but again, did not fail to mention, "Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai, Hum sab hai bhai-bhai."?
Elizabeth Seshadri, who works at the Chennai based legal firm Iyer & Thomas, shared the video with the caption, ¡®Be warned - BJP gangs are on the prowl. I got a home visit this morning. They wanted to 'explain the CAA'. Unfortunately they took me by surprise, so my farewell was polite by my nature. Next time I promise to be a gangster. #NoCAANoNRC¡¯.
However, it is not known for sure whether the workers were from the BJP or not.?
Since the passing of the CAA, people have devised their own ways of protest. This was Elizabeth Seshadri¡¯s. She was not violent or aggressive.?
