The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia's comment on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent has sparked a viral backlash, drawing criticism from all corners. The issue has now escalated, with political parties joining the fray, demanding action against those involved and even filing FIRs. Amid the growing uproar, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has weighed in, urging people not to take these "immature" jokes too seriously.
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Imtiaz Ali remarked, "Short way mein jo fame aata hai, woh short way mein chala bhi jata hai. Jisko jis cheez mein mazza aata hai, usko wahi cheez karni chahiye. Ashleelta ek aisa subject hai jo, obviously, koi bhi kahega ki yeh galat hai, lekin log immature hote hain, toh unki galti ko itna seriously nahi lena chahiye."
Manoj Bajpayee, who was also present, added, "Aaj kal safalta bohot jaldi milti hai, lekin mazza iss baat mein hai ki hum safalta ko apne paas kheench ke rakhein, taaki baad mein hum uska mazza le sakein. Isiliye jo bhi log safal ho rahe hain, jo young hain, jo yuva hain, hamesha mahaul ko thoda dekhein, samjhein¡ªyeh bohot zaroori hota hai. Isiliye main kehta hoon, zara newspaper padho yaar."
The controversy unfolded on India's Got Latent, a show hosted by Samay Raina and entrepreneur Balraj Singh Ghai, known for its tagline: "An unnecessary reality show with no purpose¡ªjust like life."
