K-pop fans, particularly BTS ARMY, feel J-Hope was snubbed despite the impressive reception to his extended play?Hope on the Street Vol. 1.?

The Korean Grand Music Awards' scoring system has come under scrutiny, with many fans questioning its fairness after BTS member J-Hope was allegedly snubbed at the event. KGMA allots 20% for expert evaluation, 45% for performance, and 35% for fan votes in deciding an artist's win in a particular category.?

Given that a substantial margin was given to fan voting, and BTS fandom is known for rallying behind the members, fans were left perplexed when Hobi did not win in the Best Hip Hop category. Despite dominating the category with an?impressive 81.1% of the votes, backed by the devoted ARMY, the Chicken Noodle Shop singer lost the award to?Lee Young?Ji, who ranked sixth with only 0.6% of the votes, raising eyebrows about the legitimacy of the award show.

BTS ARMY call out KGMA?

Once known for dominating every award function, BTS members' snub from the event did not go down well with their followers. Calling out the award show, one fan wrote, "Despite j-hope being at #1 for 'best hip-hop' and V, JK, Jimin and RM in the top 10 of 'Best Artists 10' the award show (KGMA) didn't announced them as winners. Is this a joke or what?"

"J-hope was #1 in two hip-hop categories of the 2024 Korean Grand Music Awards until @ilgansports manipulated the voting categories and voting criteria at the last minute after voting. Now, who is getting the Best Hip Hop award ? Shame on you! #KGMA_??? #KGMAUnfair," another fan added.?

BTS' V, J-hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and RM were also nominated in the Best Artist category, and despite ranking higher than other artists, none of the members managed to secure the victory.? EXO’s Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.), (G)I-DLE, Jeong Dong Won, Lee Young Ji, NewJeans, P1Harmony, STAYC, SHINee’s Taemin, Young Tak, ZEROBASEONE took home the Best Artist title, while SHINee’s Taemin was crowned with the Best Solo Artist title.?
