A 77-year-old Mitsubishi executive won hearts at Pondicherry University with a rendition of a Tamil song from the renowned film 'Muthu', starring Rajnikanth.?
In a viral video on social media, the senior executive can be seen singing and dancing to the song as pupils and coworkers praise him.Ananth Rupanagudi, an Indian Railways officer, published the video on X (previously Twitter).?
"At the age of 77, Mr. Kuboki San of Mitsubishi Corporation Ltd, Japan, attended Pondicherry University's GLOBIZZ'24 event! He delighted the MBA students with the Tamil song from Rajnikanth's film "Muthu," which has been popular in Japan since 1995. "#Rajinikanth," he added in the caption.
When it debuted in 1995, 'Muthu,' starring Rajinikanth, became the highest-grossing Indian film in Japanese history, grossing 400 million Japanese Yen, or around 23.5 crores.?
However, in 2022, the film 'RRR' starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR broke the 24-year Japanese box office record.? ?
Since being shared on March 2, the two-minute clip has received over 3.5 lakh views and 5,000 likes on the microblogging platform.
