The Grammy-winning rock band is scheduled to perform three gigs in Mumbai in January 2025 as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. There was such high demand for Coldplay tickets that the band added a third gig on January 21 to their prior schedule of January 18 and 19.
Despite the third show, thousands of Coldplay fans were unhappy since they could not get tickets. Although Coldplay tickets are officially sold out on BookMyShow, the sole authorized ticket sales platform, re-selling websites have offered them at exorbitant prices.?

Viagogo offers prices as high as ?9 lakh. One hopeful has listed Level 1 tickets for a staggering ?9.6 lakh. Despite BookMyShow's warning that tickets purchased through re-selling services will be considered illegitimate, these listings remain up.
Several fans accused BookMyShow of creating a system that favoured illicit scalpers.Several fans chastised BookMyShow for not connecting tickets to booking ID, allowing anyone to buy a ticket and resell it at a large profit later.?
Others claimed that BookMyShow had "hoarded" tickets for high-net-worth individuals, influencers, and internal workers, resulting in an artificial supply deficit.
