This is a time which calls for the privileged helping out the needy. One such person to come forward to help others is the fastest woman in the country: Dutee Chand.
The sprinter has been looking after the people in her village during this global crisis. In order to make sure everyone had the essentials they needed, she made relief kits that were then distributed among the villagers.
What's important here is that aside from basic essentials including groceries, Chand also thought it important to include sanitary pads in the relief kits.?
She shared pictures of her goodwill on Twitter proving that the Bhubaneswar-based athlete is once again an inspiration for many.?
She reportedly drove in her Mahindra XUV500--gifted to her by Anand Mahindra--to her village Chaka Gopalpur in Jaipur districtand?delivered the relief packages to the villagers.?
In her Twitter post, she wrote, 'This car @anandmahindra sir is used for #Covid_19 combat & relief work. Today, I received essential groceries & sanitary from @achyuta_samanta & @dwitivikram & began distributing it in my village.'
Chand told The Indian Express,?¡°People need all the help they can get during this coronavirus pandemic and food is on the top of everyone¡¯s mind. But we do forget there are other essential things, which people need but may not talk about openly."
Reports say?Chand?paid Rs 50,000 from her own pocket to gather the relief kits and the rest of the funds were taken care of by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology founder and BJD Member of Parliament Achyuta Samanta.?
Dutee definitely knows her duties?as a good Samaritan.
