Getting high by smoking weed might be everyone's go-to thing (or maybe not) but edibles can get you super high without you having to infiltrate your lungs with smoke - that's probably how people who like to eat hash brownies see it.?
A paan vendor in the city of Hyderabad thought selling edibles would be a great business idea, and got creative. He started selling weed infused chocolates and fortunately or unfortunately, got busted while doing so.
His side-business did not last for too long as on 29th February, the Hyderabad police busted him in Fateh Nagar for selling a stock of almost 200 weed infused chocolates. Apparently, the vendor named Jayanth Pradhan, had a deal with Akash Das who has been running a secret factory to produce the high desserts.?
According to a New Indian Express report, excise officials said, "Based on a tip-off, we raided the pan shop and found around 1.2 kg of chocolates in five packets. Each packet had around 40 chocolates."
Das brought in weed scored from Odisha and used the same in the chocolates' recipe. The chocolates were made by crushing the weed and mixing it with jaggery and chocolate powder to give your sweet tooth a trippy time.
Since their main customers were mostly college-going students, the main issue they faced was regulating it and that further led to the cops busting their side-business.?
According to a Vice News report, Excise inspector Jeevan Kiran said, "The main customers for this chocolate are college-going students, who are getting addicted to it by eating this daily."
Assistant Excise Superintendent,?N Anji Reddy, said, "Some of the peddlers are converting marijuana into a fine powder and mixing it with chocolate powder to make toffees. Since the last two years, peddlers are finding new ways to sell banned drugs. But the excise department is maintaining a strict vigil."
Seems like their 'high' dreams hit a bad low.
