There have been many instances where people called out the food aggregator app Zomato or Swiggy for charging more money for the same order placed at the restaurant. Another such user has called out Zomato and its founder, Deepinder Goyal.?For a similar issue, a post, that has now caught the internet¡¯s attention and has divided opinions?among?people. Here's what happened.?
A man named Partyay Banerjee ordered mixed Cantonese gravy noodles and dry chilli chicken, both of which cost differently when ordered from the restaurant directly and from Zomato.
From the restaurant, the total bill came about to be ?370, whereas from Zomato the total bill was around ?563, making Zomato ?193 more expensive than the restaurant.
Not only the total bill was more expensive, but the individual dishes listed on the Zomato app were also priced higher. The restaurant offers the noodles for ?190, whereas it was listed for ?300 on Zomato. chilli chicken on the other hand was listed for ?180 in the restaurant, whereas on Zomato, it was listed for ?270.
The man posted a picture of the bill and Zomato order with the?caption, "Price difference between a direct order from restaurant and Zomato ...Deepinder Goyal keep going the good work, I think very soon you will able to buy an airplane , a yacht also.hashtag#zomato."?
The post triggered the eternal debate about how it is supposed to be expensive when you order from a food aggregator app because of the services they offer. Many people shared their thoughts in the comments here what?people?said.
