A man unearthed an ancient guitar concealed in his father's damp attic, which was worth ?600,000 (Rs 63 crore) due to its wood marks. According to The Sun, the 12-string guitar has been sitting idle in the loft of an unidentified property in the English countryside for over 50 years. The guitar may appear commonplace, yet it originally belonged to singer-songwriter and musician John Lennon.?
John Lennon (1940¨C80) was the co-leader of the British musical group, the Beatles. The instrument will now be sold during an auction on May 29 and 30 at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.
John Lennon gave the guitar to 1960s pop artist Gordon Waller, who then gave it to its current owner. Gordon is recognized for songs such as Nobody I Know and I Go To Pieces.?
According to the study, each guitar has a unique "woodgrain" similar to a person's fingerprint, and the woodgrain on the attic instrument matched that of Lennon's old guitar.?
The man's father (the original owner of the guitar) thought he'd lost the musical instrument until his son discovered it while they were moving house. Experts examined the guitar and discovered that it may sell more than $500,000 at auction since John Lennon once played it.
