But in November, there are only 10 days when many private and public sector banks will remain closed due to additional bank holidays, including weekends. Banks will be closed for 10 days in November 2022, including second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays?As per the?Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks will be closed on all public holidays, with some regional holidays depending on the particular state. The month of?November 2022 observes 10 bank holidays and the first holiday starts with?Kannada Rajyotsav/Kut on November 1st. Other holidays like Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 8th will be observed bank holidays which are applicable to all banks in India except some states.??

Bank holidays in November 2022:?

People will not face any problems with bank-related work as holidays are not frequent or at short intervals, and ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking will continue to function. These holidays may vary from state to state as holidays are determined keeping in mind the local festivals.

According to?RBI guidelines, banks are closed on Sundays as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, RBI has declared holidays on November 1,8,11, and 23. Apart from this, there are four Sundays in the month and also on the second and fourth Saturdays.

Apart from the weekend, there are four bank holidays in November according to the Reserve Bank's calendar. The central government has divided the holidays into three categories under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881. In these three categories—holidays?under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

3. November 8, 2022 (Tuesday)-Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartika Purnima/Rahas Purnima

This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, who was born on the day of Karthik Purnima (the first full moon in November-December) in the year 1469. This year, the 552nd birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru will fall on November 8.

Guru Nanak was born at Rai Bhoi Ki Talwandi, near Lahore, which is in the Sekhpura district of modern-day Pakistan. A Gurudwara was built at his birthplace in the city now known as Nankana Sahib. It's located in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

4. November 11, 2022 (Friday)-Kanakadasa Jayanthi/Wangala Festival

Banks will be closed due to the Kanakdas Jayanthi/Wangla Festival in Karnataka and Meghalaya. Kanakadasa, or Kanakdas Jayanti, is a public holiday in the Indian state of Karnataka. Kanakadasa, the poet, philosopher, and musician, lived and taught here. He lived a long life of a hundred years, from 1509 to 1609. He had received a good education and was a soldier. But once badly wounded in a battle, he gave up that profession and entered the creative world of literature and music. He started writing poems at a very young age, and much of his work is still very popular today.

Banks will be closed due to the second Saturday of the month on November 12, 2022.
